I’m deeply honored to announce that I’ve been selected as an astronaut and will serve as the Vehicle Commander for the FRAM2 space mission. The news was shared this Monday at the official press conference at SpaceX headquarters Hawthorne, California.

It is with great honor that I accept my role as Vehicle Commander in the upcoming FRAM2 space mission and I am now preparing to take on the most significant challenge of my life.
As early as this year, Falcon 9 will launch Dragon’s sixth commercial astronaut mission, Fram2, which will be the first human spaceflight mission to explore Earth from a polar orbit, allowing humans to view both the North and South Poles from space for the first time. -SpaceX, 12. August 2024
Joining Wang on the mission is a crew of international adventurers: Norway’s Jannicke Mikkelsen, vehicle commander; Australia’s Eric Philips, vehicle pilot; and Germany’s Rabea Rogge, mission specialist. This will be the first spaceflight for each of the crewmembers.
Throughout my career, I have specialized in using innovative filmmaking techniques while working in remote and hazardous environments. Each of my productions have been a stepping stone towards my biggest challenge yet, to be the first to film Earth’s North- and South-Pole from space.
Named in honor of the ship that helped explorers reach Earth’s Arctic and Antarctic regions in the 19th century, Fram2 will be commanded by Chun Wang, an entrepreneur and adventurer from Malta. Wang aims to use the mission to highlight the crew’s explorational spirit, bring a sense of wonder and curiosity to the larger public, and highlight how technology can help push the boundaries of exploration of both Earth and through the mission’s research. -SpaceX, 12. August 2024
One of the missions primary objectives is to achieve the first-ever polar orbit around Earth. I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to contribute my knowledge and experience to this significant project.
This mission is not just about exploration and cinematic innovations. It’s about inspiring others, raising awareness of the fragility of our planet, and continuing the legacy of the great Norwegian polar explorers like Fridtjof Nansen and Roald Amundsen.
I’m truly honored to be the first astronaut to represent Norway in space, and I will be carrying the Norwegian flag on my spacesuit with great pride.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey. Thank you to my parents. Thank you to my fiancé Rolf-Harald. Thank you to Mission Commander Mr. Chun Wang. Thank you to SpaceX. And Thank you to my stellar FRAM2 crew. Together, we’re making history.
This is a humble reminder of the power of dreams. -anything is possible.
PS! Details regarding dates of the space launch and it’s mission will follow. Stay tuned!
